How Can Access to Mental Health Services in Switzerland Be Improved in the Aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic?
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted mental health in Switzerland, with rising levels of psychological distress, particularly among vulnerable populations such as children, adolescents, young women, socially isolated individuals, and those with pre-existing conditions. The use of mental health services varied across the country, indicating disparities in access and capacity. To address these challenges, there is a need to strengthen mental health services for at-risk groups, restructure service delivery to meet increasing demand, and enhance prevention and mental health promotion efforts. Integrating mental health into future pandemic preparedness is essential to mitigate long-term consequences.
